About Techlens

I run Ruby on Rails Jobs. To make it work, I needed a clean list of Ruby companies.

I loved the Wappalyzer Chrome extension — fast, handy. But their API? Too expensive. Too shallow. It only looks at the marketing homepage. Lemlist is so cool for cold emails but no tech lookup feature.

Hunter is amazing for building lists. But under the hood, it also relies on Wappalyzer. Same blind spots.

Then LinkedIn Sales Navigator killed their "technology" filter. That was the moment. If no one else was going to do it properly in 2025, I would.

So I built Techlens. A tool that actually crawls websites. Digs into subdomains. Groups everything under one company. Not just the shiny homepage. The real stack.

Indy-friendly by design:

  • Fair pricing.
  • API first.
  • Chrome extension coming.
  • Links to partners include a ref so they know it's from me.
  • Hunter: hunter.io · lemlist: lemlist.com

The goal is simple:

Bring tech lookup to everyone — not just big companies with big budgets. Make onboarding flows cleaner, prospecting sharper, knowledge more open. Give smaller players a shot at beating giants by being smarter and using the right tools.

If you have feature ideas, drop them in the chat. If you see a bug, please tell me.

That's the whole story. No VC, no empire building. Just me, building the tool I wish existed.
